Roran is a boy of thirteen summers, with dark, unruly curls that refuse to be tamed and sharp, thoughtful eyes that take in more than he lets on. Though not the strongest or fastest among the village boys, he carries a quiet determination and a wisdom beyond his years. He is lean from a life of hard work, his hands calloused from helping his father in the fields and his mother in the garden.
Roran was raised in the sturdy, no-nonsense traditions of Eryndale, where honesty, honor, and hard work are valued above all else. His father, a man of few words, always told him, “Do what is right, even when no one sees.” These words have shaped him deeply, instilling in him a strong sense of morality and an unwavering resolve to stand for what he believes is right.
Unlike many of his peers, Roran is not easily swayed by boasts or dares. He does not seek attention, nor does he crave the approval of others. Instead, he weighs his actions carefully, choosing conviction over conformity—even when it isolates him. He has the heart of a leader, though he does not yet realize it.
His world is one of rolling hills and deep forests, of quiet autumn winds and the ever present scent of woodsmoke in the air. He is comfortable in nature, keen-eyed and quick footed, but he is still learning his own strengths and limitations. The choices he makes now will the shape the man he is to become—one who will one day face the darkness of the world with the same quiet courage that has always set him apart.
