Brennar Altos – The Branded Warrior

Updated: Mar 25

Full Name: Brennar Alwyn

Age: 18

Height: 6’7”

Build: Massive, broad-shouldered, heavily muscled—built like a fortress

Hair: Dark brown, thick, and unruly

Eyes: A stormy gray, shadowed with grief and growing darkness

Scars/Markings:

• Twin serpent-like black scars curling up both forearms, the result of his blood binding  to the dark side of the Nexus. These scars pulse faintly when he draws upon his power.

• Various battle wounds from his brutal training and early fights.

Personality: Brennar was once a good-hearted boy, the kind who idolized his older brother Garrick and  dreamed of following in his footsteps. But grief has hollowed him out, replacing warmth with a  burning, single-minded thirst for vengeance. He is stubborn, reckless, and fearsome in  battle, but underneath his fury, remnants of his former self still exist—echoes of the boy his  mother loved, the brother who once laughed, the son who once believed in honor.

He justifies his descent by telling himself he is doing what must be done. That once Garrick’s  killers are punished, he will find his way back. But the path he walks is a dangerous one, and  the deeper he goes, the harder it is to remember the way home.

Weapon: The Branded Staff—Once a simple quarterstaff, it has grown and transformed as his  connection to the dark side of the Nexus deepens. It is now nearly as thick as a  lodgepole pine, taller than him, it's dark wood veined with shadowed power. It moves  with him as if alive, an extension of his will and fury.

Abilities:

Unnatural Strength—Even before the Nexus, Brennar was immensely strong, but now,  enhanced by his connection to Azrithul, he strikes with the force of a warhammer.

• Dark Nexus Influence—His power allows him to move faster, strike harder, and  withstand pain beyond human limits.

Warrior’s Instinct—Though he has no formal training, his raw talent and sheer force  make him a terrifying combatant.

Greatest Weakness:

Losing Himself —Every step toward vengeance is a step deeper into the grasp of the  darkness. He tells himself he still has control, but the line between righteous fury and  servitude is already blurred.

The Echo of Love —His mother’s words, Garrick’s memory, and fleeting moments of  hesitation show that he is not entirely lost—but for how long?

Fate: Brennar believes he will return home after his vengeance is complete—but the truth is, the  darkness has already claimed him more than he realizes. His journey is one of pain, loss, and  ultimately, the question: Can a soul this far gone ever be redeemed?
